How to be logged into multiple Gmail accounts or any other account

I have multiple Gmail accounts, one for personal, one for work, and one just to play around with, and there have been times were I want to see all  my accounts at the same time.  How do I solve this issue? Well, I have been doing this for a long time and taking it for granted until I told my friend about it. I was surprised he didn't know . In order to have multiple Gmail accounts open or any other account open at the same time you can either do two things.

  1. Now all three of the most popular browser, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome have a privacy mode. You can have one account in normal mode and the other account in privacy mode. That way you will have two windows of each with a different account and you can see both at the same time.
  2. The Second way is to have different browsers. You may pick from the following three  Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. Open one account in one browser and the other in account in another browser.
You can either chose either if these steps and it will solve your problem. Happy browsing!!
MAC MALWARE ALERT!!!!

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="189" caption="Image via macstoreupdates"][/caption]

Presently, many Mac users have a false sense of security due to the common notion that Macs can not get virus or malware. The main reason being that ten or even as recent as five years go Mac were rarely used by your average consumer. Now as they are increasing become more popular, largely due to IPhone and IPod,

Unfortunately, today's post is a Malware Alert for Mac users. The exploit it appears to be via Adobe Flash Player as reported in a article for Sophos, Mac malware evolves - time for Apple owners to wake up. The article also provides a link to how to check if this current Mac exploit has effected your Mac, if you wish to go straight to how to check follow the following link, Mac Flash/Trojan.

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="219" caption="Image via uncyclopedia.wikia.com"][/caption]

Sophos, a IT security company, also has an article The short history of Mac malware: 1982 - 2011, I recommend Mac users  read this brief history to be better informed in regards to security threats towards Mac computers.

Long story short, any technology is vulnerable in some form. The question for most virus/malware creators is which tech out there will make one famous.

How to get the full potential from your batteries - Lithium Ion

This tip is not about what habits to change with your phone/device but the maintenance for your device on how and when to charge your battery. This only applies to batteries of type of Lithium Ion. Now with older batteries it was always recommended that you always discharge your battery to reset the "memory"  like in nickel metal hydride and NiCads but it is the opposites with Lithium Ion. Like Steve Gibson says

"What lithium-ion batteries want is to stay charged. This allows you to get the most battery life."

Now what kind of devices have a  Lithium Ion batteries?  The three of the top of my head are iPad, iPhone and the Kindle. I bet there are many more but that ill leave that to you. Another thing to add is that all three devices I mentioned do not have a removable battery which doesn't allow you to buy an extra one.  In the end. this leaves you with just one solution.  To extend that battery life of your Lithium Ion battery is a good idea to always keep it plugged in when you can.

Want an Easy Way to Root Your Andriod Phone?

As Android phones get more popular people get interested in pushing their phones to the limit.  Like Apple's iOS devices you may in a form "jailbreak" to gain full access.  In Android it is not called Jailbreak . The word "root" is used.  This allows you to back up your Android phone, put custom ROM's and basically fully customize it.  Unrevoked allows you to download some software that will "root" your phone in one click.  I have done this with my Android Droid  Incredible. It was a simple step to gain access to the root structure and modified its contents. Below are the cellphones that are supported by Unrevoked. Have fun and enjoy  but I am not responsible for any damage to your phone.

How to fix an iphone/ipod?

I will be straight forward with the answer to the following question. How do I fix an iphone/ipod?. The answer is plainly don't! I have heard many and I mean many cases of the Apple's Genius Bar replacing iPhone/ipod for free. Here is the key: Be NICE and explain to them, how you broke. Even with Apples new policy, it states "If a customer disputes whether an iPod with an activities LCI has been damaged by liquid contact and there are no external signs of damage from corrosion, then the iPod may still be eligible for warranty service." We have heard that Apple employees can and have been using this loosely and have been replacing iPhone/ipod for free. If there is no luck with this tip try iFixit.com

App Cleaner for your Mac

image Mac's popularity is rising because numerous number of people are leaving  Windows to the simplistic way, Apple. Many are used to the add/remove program's feature in Windows but in Mac, to uninstall, you simply drag it to the trash. In some ways, I find that it is not enough. Especially on Ant-Viruses and other deep level apps. Lucky, there is an awesome application remover called appcleaner. This application removes all scattered files pertaining to that specific application. Good luck and enjoy it; the Apple way.

How to Consolidate itunes
[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="128" caption="Image via Wikipedia"]iTunes Icon[/caption]

As we gather more and more music in itunes things may get out of hand. I bet many of you have seen a little arrow to the left of your song like this:

What does this mean? Well, it means itunes can not locate the song you are trying to play. There is one way to prevent this, to Consolidate your library. This allows itunes to store all your music in one spot. Instead of having some in My documents, some in My Music and just spread out.  To do this in Windows Go to File->Library->Organize Library... You will see a windows pop out like this:

Click the check box and click OK. itunes will gather all your songs into one place. You won't have that  exclamation issue again but remember every time you add a song repeat the processes again. This tip works for Windows but if you know how to do it in the Mac post below. Thanks!

SUPER Meets All Your Needs

I am confident in saying that at one point in our tech lives we would open a media file and it would not play whether it be on a personal computer or some kind of media player. There are many solutions out there but many are limited in some form and/or require some kind of monetary fee. I have tried several converters many were limited in conversion types and the best ones were free to try but were costly. BUT as always there is a free alternative!!

SUPER by ERightsoft

Provides all the neccessary to convert over 90% of files to a file of your choice. I have also made gif from videos with this software.

Although what may prove to be an obstacle for you if your a regular pc user,  whom utilizes the computer for just web, e-mail, and basic media use. The reason is because I feel the interface is difficult to figure out for those first timers out there and non power users.

The program WILL require some playing around with the options to get the best quality conversion possible. I say its definitely a must for those media users that like to share media through various file mediums for example convert a video that will play on iPod converted from and original format that is not supported by the iPod.

Nvidia, Dell, HP, Apple Settlement

A couple days late, but apparently, there has been a settlement between chip maker Nvidia and computer manufacturers including Dell, HP and Apple. As it is, Nvidia supplies video chips to these companies for video capabilities for their respective computers. As Dell, HP, and Apple are major suppliers of computers, there is a high chance for people to qualify for a replacement especially if your computer failed in the last couple of years. To see if you qualify check here. Personally, I own a Compaq that failed recently, I will proceed with trying to get a replacement and will provide a follow-up if anyone is interested. If you have received itunes recent update, 10.0.1 , you know about ping or have seen it. So you know what I am talking about. From the first day I disliked it. 1. Click on ping on the left hand side

2. Go and click on your email in the upper right hand corner of itunes.

3. You should get a prompt to enter your password. Do that.

4. Go and click "Turn Off" it will disable most of the features of ping.

If you followed these steps correctly. Ping should not clutter your itunes and it will only visible on left hand side under "Store".

Cell Phone bars don't mean anything?

Who wants the new iphone? I don't, not with the iphone dropping calls like crazy.  There has been many complaints on how it is built. It looks like Mr. Jobs, Apple's CEO,  decided to put the antenna on the outside where OUR hands go. It covers the antenna. Today's tech tip is not to put a plastic band around your iphone but just to clear up that the bars on your cell phone do not matter! Many people have a  notion that more bars the stronger the signal. That is false! You either have a signal or you don't. Why do we have bars?  The companies have used that  as advertising like the picture above. Our phones receive digital signals not analog like in the old days.  So next time, it doesn't matter if you have bars. It matters that you get a signal. Can you hear me know?

Hold Your iPhone the Right Way

If you were one of the many who bought a brand new iPhone, you might want to pay attention as you might save yourself from a lot of frustration and missed calls. Just this past week Apple started selling their latest version of the iPhone, iPhone 4, to the public. As soon as people walked out the doors to the Apple Store, un-boxing videos started showing up on YouTube. Unlike any other gadget, follow videos were being uploaded. These videos showed how placing your hand on the wrong corner can make you lose all service. Just like that. No questions asked. It even happened to Steve Jobs when he first announced it at WWDC. He blamed it on the quantity of Wi-Fi signals but it was most likely the way he was holding it. What was Apple's response to this? Just hold it a different way or buy their bumper case. For some reason if your hand/palm touches the corner that has the antenna, it somehow shorts it and loses all signal in the phone. The reason why the case method works is your hand doesn't touch the antenna therefore no signal lost.

Apparently, it doesn't happen to all iPhones so if you're one of the lucky, then high-five to you. But if not, then make sure you pay attention to the way you hold your iPhone.

You can read more about it over at Engadget.

Finding duplicates songs in itunes

In iTunes, a very useful feature is Finding duplicate songs in itunes. Many of us have GBs of songs. If you just go to File -> Show Duplicates menu item. You can use this feature to help find all duplicates from your library. However, we have different versions of songs. To find the 'Exact Duplicate' hold down shift in Windows and the option key in Mac and go to File ->Show Exact Duplicates. With this button iTunes shows only true duplicates, and not other versions.
